Peer Review Process
Jurnal Keperawatan Terapan accepts manuscripts from the fields of nursing and health sciences, particularly those that contribute to applied nursing practice. All accepted articles will be published openly and made freely accessible to readers worldwide.
Each submitted manuscript will be evaluated by at least two reviewers who are experts in the relevant field. The journal implements a double-blind peer review system, ensuring that the identities of both authors and reviewers remain concealed to maintain objectivity. Reviewers assess key aspects of the manuscript, including originality, contribution to applied nursing knowledge, methodological rigor, clarity of analysis, and overall readability.
If the two reviewers provide conflicting recommendations, a third reviewer will be assigned to conduct an additional assessment. The decision of this third reviewer is final in determining whether the manuscript will be accepted or rejected. The third reviewer is given approximately 14 days to complete the review. The overall peer review process generally takes between 10–12 weeks.
Revision After Peer Review
Authors are required to revise their manuscripts based on all comments, critiques, and recommendations provided by the reviewers. Each comment must be addressed systematically in a response to reviewers document or revision cover letter, clearly indicating the sections that have been improved and providing justification for any suggestions that could not be accommodated.
All changes in the manuscript must be made visible either through the track changes feature or with clear markings to ensure that the editorial team can easily identify revisions. The revised manuscript must be resubmitted through the JKT online submission system in MS Word format within two weeks from the date the revision request was issued.
Upon receiving the revised manuscript, the editor is responsible for determining whether the revisions are adequate. The editor may:
- Send the revised manuscript back to the same reviewers for re-evaluation,
- Request additional revisions if the improvements are insufficient, or
- Make a final decision, accepting or rejecting the manuscript based on their professional judgment.
Manuscripts that are not revised or not resubmitted within the specified timeframe without a valid explanation will be considered withdrawn by the authors.
Acceptance Letters
After completing the review and revision process in accordance with feedback from reviewers and the editorial team, manuscripts that meet the scientific and publication standards of the Jurnal Keperawatan Terapan (JKT) will be approved for publication.
An official acceptance notification will be sent to the corresponding author via email. This letter will confirm that the manuscript has successfully passed the final evaluation and will include further instructions regarding the production stage and preparation for publication.
The acceptance letter is typically issued within seven days after the editorial board makes the final decision. Authors are advised to ensure that their email address is active and accessible to avoid delays in receiving the notification.
Copyediting Stage
The copyediting stage represents the final phase before a manuscript is published in the Jurnal Keperawatan Terapan (JKT). During this process, the editorial team conducts a thorough review to ensure clarity of language, consistency of formatting, accuracy of scientific terminology, and full adherence to JKT’s publication guidelines.
