During agricultural activities, inhalation of dust and fine particles can lead to sudden airway obstruction, severely compromising respiratory function. To prevent fatal outcomes, farmers require structured knowledge and practical skills in immediate response, including basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation and choking management. This study aimed to analyze the effect of basic life support training on improving farmers’ competence in handling choking incidents caused by foreign body obstruction. A pre-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test approach was employed. The sample comprised 30 participants, calculated using the Slovin formula and selected through purposive sampling. Pre- and post-intervention assessments revealed significant improvements in participants’ ability to manage choking emergencies. The Wilcoxon signed-rank test confirmed a statistically significant difference (p < 0.001). These findings demonstrate that structured training effectively enhances first-aid capabilities for respiratory emergencies. Integrating simulation-based practice into community programs is recommended to strengthen response readiness and improve overall safety awareness among agricultural workers.

Keywords: Airway obstruction, Cardiopulmmonary resuscitation, Emergencies, Farmers
2026-03-30T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 syaifuddin kurnianto, Arista Maisyaroh, Eko Prasetya Widianto, Kartika Nurhayatihttps://ojs.poltekkes-malang.ac.id/JKT/article/view/6245Development of Healthy Human Silhouette Magnetic Board Media for Preschool Children2026-01-28T02:25:57+00:00Vania Dwi Lestarip17230223074_vania@poltekkes-malang.ac.idAndi Hayyun Abiddinandi_hayyun@poltekkes-malang.ac.idFinta Isti Kundartifintaistikundarti@gmail.com
Nutrient deficiency was one of the nutritional problems that could hinder the growth and development process of children. Around the world, many children aged zero to five experienced malnutrition, including a significant number who had low body weight. Insufficient intake of fruits and vegetables caused the body to lack essential nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, and fiber, which potentially led to various illnesses. This research aimed to produce educational media in the form of a healthy human silhouette magnetic board about healthy lifestyles for preschool children. This study used the Research and Development (R&D) method. The research procedure followed the ADDIE model, which consisted of five stages: analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. The study was implemented at TK PKK Gandekan from March to April 2025. The expert validation results showed a very feasible category, and the participant trial results also indicated a very feasible category. The products developed, such as boards with pictures of children’s human organs and magnets with images of fruits and vegetables, were attractive and could be understood by preschool children. Subsequent researchers could test the media on more diverse samples and explore additional health aspects, while educational institutions could adopt it as an interactive learning tool with teacher training support.
2026-03-10T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Vania Dwi Lestari, Andi Hayyun Abiddin, Finta Isti Kundartihttps://ojs.poltekkes-malang.ac.id/JKT/article/view/6261The Relationship between the Degree of Intraoperative Bleeding and the Incidence of Postoperative Shivering in Spinal Anesthesia Patients 2026-02-26T04:38:38+00:00Shefi Salsabilashefirahmasalsabila@gmail.comDyah Restuning Prihatidyah.erpe@gmail.comHeny PrasetyoriniHenybundagavin@gmail.com
Postoperative shivering is a common complication in patients undergoing spinal anesthesia and may increase oxygen consumption, cardiac workload, and delay recovery. Intraoperative bleeding is considered one contributing factor, as blood loss can reduce core body temperature. This quantitative correlational study used a cross-sectional approach involving 76 patients selected through purposive sampling. Intraoperative bleeding was assessed using observation sheets, while shivering was measured using a standardized shivering scale. Data were analyzed using the Spearman Rank test. Most respondents experienced mild shivering (57.9%) and Class 1 intraoperative bleeding (78.9%). Statistical analysis showed a p-value of 0.000 and an r-value of 0.440, indicating a significant moderate positive correlation. Of these accident victims, approximately 30% are children and adolescents, who are the nation's future generation. More than 30% of traffic accident victims are under 25 years old. Traffic accidents are the most dangerous cause of death for people aged 15-29 years. This study aims to determine the effect of E-Comic-based education on the level of knowledge of students at SMAN 1 Pekanbaru City. This type of research is quantitative using a design (Quasy Experiment) with a Pre-test Post-test Nonequivalent Control Group Design approach. This study was conducted at SMAN 1 Pekanbaru City with a total of 40 respondents who were conducted for 1 day. The results of this study obtained a difference in the average knowledge score in the intervention group of 21.65 and a difference in the control group of 12.45. Although both experienced an increase, the average knowledge score in the intervention group was higher than the control group, which means that e-comic-based education is more effective in increasing knowledge than education that only provides PowerPoint. The results of the t-dependent statistical test showed a p-value of 0.000 for the intervention group and the control group, which means a p-value <0.05, so the hypothesis H0 is rejected, which means that e-comics are effective in increasing knowledge about first aid for traffic accident victims at SMAN 1 Pekanbaru City. The results of the t-independent sample t-test showed a p value of 0.003 which means Sig. (2-tailed) <0.05, so the hypothesis H0 was rejected, which means there was a significant difference between the intervention group and the control group. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that e-comic-based education is effective in increasing students' knowledge about first aid for traffic accident victims.

Keywords: Traffic accidents, Knowledge, e-Comics
2026-03-17T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Zhafiirah, Dendy Kharisna, Wardah, Ulfa Hasanahhttps://ojs.poltekkes-malang.ac.id/JKT/article/view/5963The Effect of Foot Exercises on ABI Values in Diabetes Mellitus Patients 2026-02-10T06:48:28+00:00Heru Wiratmokoheru_wiratmoko@yahoo.co.idEndang Purwaningsihendangpurwa@gmail.comAgus Wiwit Suwantoaguswiwit@gmail.com
Abstract: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a non-communicable disease that attracts a lot of attention. Consequently, low self-efficacy may result in suboptimal treatment adherence. During the initial phase of hemodialysis, patients commonly experience difficulties in adapting, but this adaptive ability tends to improve as they gain more experience and understanding of the therapy. Objective: This study aims to examine the relationship between the duration of hemodialysis treatment and self-efficacy among hemodialysis patients. Methods: A quantitative correlational design with a cross-sectional approach was employed. The study sample consisted of 100 hemodialysis patients selected through purposive sampling. The independent variable was the duration of hemodialysis, while the dependent variable was self-efficacy. Self-efficacy was measured using the General Perceived Self-Efficacy questionnaire, and patient medical records were used to determine the duration of hemodialysis. Data analysis was performed using the Spearman Rank correlation test. Result: The results indicated a significant relationship with moderate strenght between the duration of hemodialysis and self-efficacy, with a p-value of 0.000 and a correlation coefficient of 0.448. Conclusion: These findings suggest that the longer patients undergo hemodialysis, the higher their self-efficacy levels. A longer duration of hemodialysis allows for the accumulation of experience and information from healthcare professionals and fellow patients, which contributes to enhanced cognitive functioning. This cognitive improvement supports patients’ understanding, adaptation, and coping abilities, thereby increasing their confidence in managing therapy as reflected in improved self-efficacy.
2026-03-21T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2026 Aulia Fahmi Alfarizi, Taufan Arif, Sulastyawati, Naya Ernawatihttps://ojs.poltekkes-malang.ac.id/JKT/article/view/6269The Relationship Between Smoking And Nausea, Vomiting, And Pain In Patients After Spinal Anesthesia Surgery2026-02-19T03:07:21+00:00Hindria Elfantilfantihindria@gmail.comDyah Restuning Prihatidyah.erpe@gmail.comDwi Nur Ainidwinuraini@uhws.ac.d
Spinal anesthesia is widely used in surgery, but it can still cause pain and postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV). The butterfly hug is a simple self-administered technique that has the potential to effectively reduce anxiety. Roy’s Adaptation Model explains that individuals are adaptive systems that continuously interact with their environment through coping mechanisms. This study aimed to analyze the effectiveness of the butterfly hug in reducing anxiety among first-year nursing students from an adaptation theory perspective. This study employed a pre-experimental design using a one-group pretest–posttest approach. The sample consisted of 50 first-year nursing students aged 18–20 years who had experienced anxiety, selected through purposive sampling. The independent variable was the butterfly hug intervention, administered six times over two weeks, while the dependent variable was the level of anxiety. Data were collected using the Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale questionnaire. Statistical analysis was conducted using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test with a 95% significance level. The results showed that the majority of students experienced mild anxiety prior to the intervention, whereas most reported no anxiety after the intervention. A significant reduction in anxiety levels was observed following the butterfly hug intervention (p=0.000). In conclusion, the butterfly hug is effective in reducing anxiety among first-year nursing students.
