Abstract

The Community Service Activity in Ngandeng Hamlet, Sidodadi Village, Lawang Subdistrict aims to raise public awareness of non-communicable disease prevention through health screening and healthy lifestyle education. The activity was held on September 25, 2025, with 40 participants aged ≥30 years, the majority of whom were in the 40–49 age group (50%) and female (65%). The examination results showed that 67.5% of participants had hypertension (grade I and II), an average Body Mass Index (BMI) of 25.38 kg/m² (overweight category), and several participants had above-normal blood sugar levels. These findings indicate a high risk of degenerative diseases among the elderly community in Ngandeng Hamlet. Through individual counseling, group education, and community empowerment, this activity successfully increased participants' understanding and awareness of the importance of early detection and healthy lifestyle changes to prevent complications from hypertension and diabetes mellitus.
