Retained placenta is a condition where the placenta is retained in the uterus and has not come out for 30 minutes after giving birth because the uterus does not contract properly. The Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) in Indonesia in 2019 was 305 per 100,000 live births. The direct cause of maternal death is bleeding, where retained placenta is one of the biggest causes of bleeding, reaching 28%. A systematic review was conducted to determine the influence of age factors on the incidence of retained placenta in Indonesia. The criteria for the articles reviewed were articles within the year 2020-2024 and used the Google Scholar database. The keywords used are "Age" and "Retained Placenta". The search results obtained 8 articles that met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Based on the 8 articles reviewed, 7 articles stated that the mother's age had an influence on the incidence of retained placenta. The results of a systematic review show that there is a relationship between age and the incidence of retained placenta, namely that age < 20 years and > 35 years can increase the incidence of rest placenta in mothers giving birth.
